We are confident that your ability to communicate effectively is as critical as your technical skills in today's fast-paced world of information technology. We definitely need excellent English and pronunciation to advance in our careers, get leading jobs, and develop our startups. And yet, it's not enough. On top of that, we should know how to pitch ideas, give and receive feedback, understand cross-cultural communication specifics, etc. So, the English Labs School sets an ambitious goal to teach all of this to as many tech specialists as possible so that their career path is even more fascinating and successful.
is a young school that knows the tech world from the inside. We understand what complications stand in the way of people in tech when it comes to using English and communicating with colleagues and clients. We know those typical mistakes they make and what soft skills should be enhanced to look even more professional and tackle things in a shorter time and way more effectively. That's why we want to share this knowledge with our awesome tech pros.
We launched this school in 2022 amid the full-scale war in Ukraine. Why now? Because even throughout this disruptive time, our country is showing world-class tech growth, digitalization, and even more active development of digital services, it is getting integrated into the world economy and societies. We can see how vital digital innovations are and how essential effective communication becomes in this digitalized world with no borders. We know how to help bring this communication to a new level.
The white guy's name is Joy. He's the smartest and the kindest dog in this entire world. On top of that, Joy attended all English classes his "mom" (and English Labs founder, by the way) held when she was an English tutor a while back. So, this guy is pretty advanced in English :)
The black dude is Jackson (Joy's son, by the way). And that is the most gentle and caring dog ever. He can't boast of advanced English since he skipped classes every now and then. Jackson had some more important stuff to handle.
Both of them are the main inspiration and source of happiness for their "mom." They're always there to help and support :) And this is why when it came to choosing mascots for the school, the answer came naturally with no second thoughts. So, these guys are going to be your little helpers.
Yana Levandovska majored in teaching English & German languages, as well as got a technical education. She has 16+ years of English teaching experience, including teaching it to people in tech. For 6.5 years, she worked in tech as a Project Manager & Business Analyst. So, she knows the world of tech from the inside.
While working for tech companies, Yana spotted the most common complications tech pros encounter regarding English and soft skills. During her time at one of the companies, she designed a course that focused on essential and yet advanced vocabulary, grammar, and communication hacks tech pros need daily. When working for another company, Yana created and ran workshops on cross-cultural communication, the art of giving & receiving feedback, etc.
The core pillar of the English Labs School is Yana's desire to help people in tech become even more confident and valuable by enhancing communication skills, leadership qualities, and English proficiency. To reach these goals, the school pays tremendous attention to the quality of service, content, and knowledge English Labs provides. One more thing to mention is that the school invests in its teachers to keep them on top of things in the teaching and tech worlds.
